PASSPORT USA OVERVIEW FOR INTERNATIONAL NURSES

Passport USA provides a comprehensive program for international registered nurses.  We will assist you with everything you need in order to prepare for and take your licensing exam, obtain US credentials, secure a visa, relocate and establish a new home in the United States.

Passport USA will sponsor your visa, provide you with the security of long term employment and give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience, potentially over multiple facilities and clinical settings during your initial 24 months of employment.

Passport USA provides qualifying candidates with:

  • U.S. visa sponsorship including H1-B, EB-2, EB-3 and TN visa opportunities;
  • A generous salary;
  • An attracive relocation package; and
  • An excellent benefits package.

Our comprehensive program is designed to address both the professional and personal aspects of your move to America. Let us explain the major steps:

The Application Process - If you are a licensed registered nurse with a minimum of two years of experience in your profession, your skills are in great demand in America. Once you complete our Quick-App or Application, we will review your education and experience to determine the best path for you to take to work as an RN in the United States.

English Proficiency (TOEFL and IELTS) - Generally, passing an English proficiency exam is mandatory for immigration and for U.S. licensure. Health professionals may be exempt from this English proficiency requirement if:

  • Your country of education was Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, Australia, New Zealand, Canada (except Quebec), the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, or the United States; AND
  • The language of insruction for your education was in English; AND
  • The language of your textbooks was in English

VisaScreen (CGFNS) - The VisaScreen certification process is a requirement of the U.S. immigration law to prove that applicable health professionals meet minimum eligibility standards related to licensure, education and English proficiency. The VisaScreen Certificate is obtained from the International Commission on Healthcare Professionals, a division of the Commission of Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). When you attend the exit interview for your immigrant visa "green card" at the US Consulate you will present a copy of the VisaScreen Certificate to the consulate officer.

Licensure Examination - The next priority is to prepare you for the U.S. licensing examination (NCLEX). We will provide guidance in identifying quality test preparation materials and courses. NCLEX exams are given in a variety of locations around the world We can help you make arrangments to sit for the exam.

Job Placement - Our placement team works hard to ensure that your assignment in the United States is a great fit for you and your employer. Many factors are considered regarding your U.S. placement. These factors include, but are not limited to, your clinical skills and experience, job opportunities at the time of your relocation and, of course, your own personal location preferences.

Visa Sponsorship - Upon client selection we will begin the visa sponsorship process. Typically, our parent company, Health Carousel, will be your visa sposnor. The type of visa used may vary based on several factors including your educational background, your profession, and the position you will be accepting.

Preparing for the USA - Before you pack your bags for America, we will ensure that you know what to expect when you arrive at your destination. Passport USA and our clinical partner facilities will assist you with your tranisition to living and working in the United States.

Support - A Passport USA representative will be assigned to you and will be available throughout the duration of your time with us. We will give you the support you need to ease into your new environment and to feel confident in your workplace and personal life.

Long Term Career Options - At the end of your assignment with Passport USA, you have unrestricted career opportunities. You will be eligible for a variety of other assignment opportunities through the Health Carousel Network. You can choose to work in a variety of clinical settings around the country as a traveling nurse or accept another long-term assignment in a new part of the country. You may even be invited to work as directly for your assigned clinical partner facility indefinitely.
