Maria Teresa is a Physical Therapist who is from the Philippines but is currently assigned in Illinois. "I have a friend who was a previous employee of Health Carousel who recommended this agency to me. The staff is helpful and nice. They are accommodating and very supportive because they are willing to answer all my queries. This is why I stay with Health Carousel."What do you like most about working with our client? "The facility is a good place to work. They help me grow professionally. Their required productivity is reasonable and not hard to meet. Team leaders are friendly and very approachable. The executive director and assistant executive director are also supportive of us and always keep a positive attitude."What do you like to do outside of work? "During the weekend, I love spending time with my daughter. We like watching movies together, eat outside, and shop, but most of the time we are just in the house. I love to sing karaoke and ride my elliptical machine to keep me physically fit."What do you love most about being a PT? "The physical therapist profession is a very rewarding job. Whenever I see my patients demonstrate improvement and progress through their treatment, that gives me greater joy and satisfaction because I know that I am making a difference in their lives."What is your favorite American food? "I love the traditional food in a Thanksgiving meal: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.!"Tell us something unique about you! "I am a single mom with one daughter who keeps me on my toes. I completed my DPT in May 2017 with the financial support from Health Carousel.Before I came to the U.S., I've been to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar where I spent 15 years working in acute care hospitals. Most of my previous experience was in intensive care units. I got certified in Fundamental Critical Care Support in Adult Care since I had to manage critically ill patients. My last work setting when I was still in the Middle East was in Cardiac Rehabilitation, working in both inpatient and outpatient care. At the same time, I became a certified personal trainer. Right now, I am preparing for my Geriatric Certification Specialist exam because I want to specialize in this since this is my current practice in home health.Other places that I have visited are Switzerland, France, and Hong Kong. The places that I have visited here in the U.S. are California, New Jersey, New York, and Illinois. The languages I can speak are Arabic, Tagalog, and English.What's your favorite quote? "Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding.
