Preety is one of our wonderful RNs currently assigned in Nebraska. She is from Nepal and has been in the healthcare field for 9 years and with PassportUSA for over 1 year!Preety was nominated for RN of the Month by her Director of Nursing: "Preety is always willing to help out wherever needed. She is very flexible with her schedule and will do whatever she can to adjust her schedule to ensure we gave adequate staffing. She always has an upbeat attitude that brings so much joy to the residents and staff. In March, she has volunteered to paint resident fingernails every Tuesday afternoon on her day off."Learn a little more about PassportUSA's award-winning RN, Preety, by reading her responses below! What drew you to Health Carousel? "From the very start, the Health Carousel staff was very accommodating with my concerns and questions. Still today, I admire and appreciate their professionalism. This was the major part that drew me to Health Carousel. My smooth transition as an international healthcare professional applicant to a RN in the USA was all made possible because of them. Furthermore, Health Carousel provides a steady platform for eligible candidates to excel and reach above and beyond."What do you like most about working with our client? "I work as a charge nurse. The Director of Nursing (DON), my colleagues, and auxiliary staff were very welcoming from the beginning. They all offered and provided me a helping hand to adjust and start my new life in Nebraska. I am very comfortable working here and further wish to be of any help to the facility besides being a nurse. Everyday experience is rewarding. In addition, my facility recognizes and appreciates the personal efforts that I contribute as a nurse. That simple acknowledgement makes a lot of difference. It provides positivism to move ahead with grand ideas and hope. I am thankful to Health Carousel for this assignment."What do you like to do outside of work? "I love outdoor activities, travelling, and tasting a variety of cuisines. On my days off, I try my best to check out new places and learn baking from my colleagues. They love teaching me and I look forward to learning from them. Every morning I go out for group workout classes with my friend from work Jodi. She is an assistant administrator. Recently, I collaborated with the activity director at the facility and started, "Pretty Nails with Preety" manicure program every Tuesday. I give residents manicures and back rubs. This also give me opportunity to bond with them during my off hours."What is your favorite American food?"I have many. But I do love a homemade juicy grilled burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce."What do you love most about being a RN?"It is a rewarding experience. When my residents find out that I am their nurse for the day they get excited. This further adds joy to my profession. I always had interest to work with seniors and being brought up in an extended family myself, I have great adoration for them and respect their feelings. At the end of the day, the feeling that I was of help to someone is a good feeling."Have you received awards from your facility? "A CARE card is a way of acknowledging and appreciating employees for exceeding expectations and standards of care. It is based in four criteria Communication, Attitude, Responsiveness, and Engagement. I have received seven CARE cards from the DON, colleagues, and administrators."Tell us something unique about you! "I speak three languages: Nepali (I am from Nepal), Hindi (dialect in India- especially in Northern India) and English. I am a tea cup collector! I enjoy tea parties."What is your favorite quote? "They may forget your name, but they will never forget how you made them feel" - Maya AngelouIf you are not a current PassportUSA employee, simply register with us today and we'll get your journey to the USA underway!
