This year's theme was "Culture of Safety - It Starts With You." PassportUSA takes great pride in the dutiful and skillful care that all of our nurses provide to their patients. And to each of them we say a heartfelt, "Thank you!"We would like to bring attention to one PassportUSA nurse in particular that embodies the spirit of both International Nurses Day and National Nurses Week. This nurse is Cherry Meneses, who is working as a PassportUSA team member in Minnesota.Perhaps recent comments from her clinical supervisor explain it best.

I rarely give perfect scores, but Cherry has more than met each goal she has set for herself and each goal we have set for her! She is an outstanding employee and has earned the respect and admiration of her fellow co-workers and leaders alike . She picks up extra shifts for us whenever she can, and she does it willingly and with a smile. She is the liaison between our new Philippine nurses and us helping them acclimate to America, Hospital routines, hospital protocols, and orientation. When she first arrived her leadership potential was recognized and she has not disappointed us. She has a winning personality with both her patients and coworkers alike. She has advanced herself to working ER alone which meant completing TNCC. She is smart, she is self driven, she is honest, she is respectful and she is inspirational. And a real blessing to our hospital.

Wow!Congratulations to Cherry. While we only highlighted a single nurse we are well aware that there are countless other PassportUSA nurses spread across the USA earning similar accolades from their supervisors, peers, and patients. We hope our readers who are still being processed overseas will be spending International Nurses Day 2017 in the USA!Happy National Nurses Week 2016 to everyone.
