Summary

In this video, Advancial Credit Union walks you through the actual application to open an account with them.

Transcript

Let's walk through the actual application.

Your Advancial membership is free and it begins automatically when you open your foundational account with Advancial.

That foundation account is actually your savings account. Please note it's already been established that the $5 required to initially fund your savings account will be automatically paid through your company. Applying for membership and opening your account is fast and easy. The process begins with completing and signing your application which usually takes about 10 minutes. You should also be ready to provide 2 forms of identification. For inbound USA employees, we may also ask for your employment letter with information concerning your new assignment.

Section number 1: account selection.

Here, you will at minimum need to check a savings account, that foundation account we just spoke of. If you'd like, feel free to go ahead and check the checking account as well. Unlike that savings, this checking account does not require an initial deposit to get it opened.

With your ATM and debit card attached to this account, this is going to give you the quickest access to your funds.

Unless you already have your permanent address, you will not be applying for the credit card or auto loan at this time. There will be an option after we've established the account and delivered your debit and ATM cards.

Section number 2: primary member owner information.

Please fill out this information completely Be sure to fill in your full name and ensure to match your legal name as it appears on your legal documentation.

Don't forget to check the checkmark beside, the Social Security number option. If you have one, please include that number. And if not, be sure to check the box that indicates you've not yet received it. Please note here the address is going to fall in line with the information I gave you previously in this presentation.

It will either be your corporate address or it will be your permanent address.

Section number 3: joint account owner information.

If you'd like to add a joint owner and if you have their appropriate identification on hand, this section will be for their information.

Section number 4: opening deposit and account funding authorization.

Here, you will designate what accounts you would like to be opened. At minimum, you must select that savings account.

Please write in $5 for this account opening amount. Remember you will not be making that deposit. Instead, PassportUSA will be making that on your behalf.

With this scenario, you will need to check the box where it says "check here if your employer will make that minimum deposit to open your savings."

That said, you will leave the rest of this section concerning the funding card information blank.

You may also open your inbound USA checking. Please put 0 or leave blank for now as you'll have time to place money into that account at a later time. This account will come with a debit card and ATM card so you can access your funds easily.

Section number 5: security passphrase.

Here, you will create a passphrase.

This is an added security level to verify your identification.

When you call Advancial over the phone, you will be asked to provide this passphrase verbally. It may be any sentence, word, number, or phrase that you choose.

Section number 6: account ownership type.

For this section, you will just need to complete the type of account that this will be. A single party or individual account with just you listed on the account or a joint account.

As the owner of this membership account, you may designate a payable on death, or a POD. This means upon your death, all funds will be dispersed to the POD you designate for this and all subaccounts under this membership number. You'll be required to provide the legal name and date of birth for this beneficiary at this time. If the beneficiary is not a US resident, a copy of his or her passport will also be required at the time of application.

You'll also need to complete section 7 of the application if you designate a beneficiary.

If you do not have this information handy or if you wish to not designate a POD or beneficiary, please select "single party account without POD." You can always go back and change your designation at a later time.

Section number 8: credit card and loan application.

This section will need to be left blank for now, if you are sending your debit and ATM cards to the corporate office.

Of course, after you receive those cards and you receive that permanent address, let us know what that address is at which point through that CAD form, you can then apply for the products with your designated member service representative.

Section 9: the taxpayer identification number and certification.

Please read through these options and choose the most appropriate box that applies to your situation.

And the last thing to do is sign, date, and submit your application.

We ask that you allow up to 3 business days for your designated Advancial representative to open the account. Once your account is officially approved and open, you will receive a welcome email that contains several important items.

Number 1: the membership account number.

Number 2: the membership disclosures and account agreement. Now this is for your personal records.

Number 3: the online banking registration link and instructions.

Number 4: direct deposit form, if you decide to do direct deposit.

Number 5: card activation instructions.

And

Number 6: the change-add-delete, or that CAD form that we talked about a little earlier. Remember, this is the form that will be used to update your address once you have your permanent address.

That does wrap things up for today. I know this is a lot of information. If you have any questions, there is the email on your screen that's gonna get you directly to your designated member service representative team. They at our Dallas Uptown branch, and they'll be happy to help with any questions that you may have, before or after starting the banking process with Advancial. Thank you so much. Have a great day.
