Dorcas B. and Ian D. Named as August 2025 Employees of the Month

Dorcas B., RN – Virginia

With 16 years of experience spanning Medical-Surgical, Long-Term Care, and Home Health, Dorcas has built her career on steady leadership and patient-centered care. She has served as both a Charge Nurse and a Nurse Preceptor, roles that allowed her to mentor colleagues while ensuring that patients received the highest quality care.

Dorcas was introduced to HCI through a friend and was immediately impressed by the agency’s communication and support. Transitioning to the US brought new challenges, but she has embraced them with grace and humility. Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that growth comes from collaboration and a willingness to learn.

Ian D., RN – Ohio

Ian brings an impressive 16 years of nursing experience, much of it in perioperative and critical care. His journey began in Belgium, where he built a strong foundation before deciding to pursue his USRN. With HCI’s guidance, he passed his NCLEX and reignited his dream of practicing in the US.

The transition was far from easy. Starting over in a new country required him to leave behind his comfort zone, but Ian embraced the challenge. The experience strengthened his confidence and opened new opportunities that he might never have discovered otherwise.

For Ian, winning Employee of the Month is a meaningful affirmation of his love for nursing. To him, every shift is already a victory, because helping patients and making a difference is its own reward. This recognition, however, inspires him to continue striving for excellence in his profession.
