Originally from the Philippines, Rica began her US nursing career with a clear vision: to grow personally and professionally while serving patients with compassion. Now practicing in Maine in both Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room settings, she embraces every challenge as an opportunity to learn.

Rica credits HCI’s ethical recruitment practices and focus on innovation as key reasons she joined the program, and she has since thrived in adapting to the demands of a fast-paced healthcare environment.

“Adapting didn’t just mean adjusting to new protocols,” she reflects. “It meant learning to embrace challenges and collaborate across cultures.”

Her journey has been more than professional advancement—it has been a transformation of self. Rica is becoming not only the nurse she aspired to be, but also an advocate for her patients and a role model for others who dream of nursing in the US. Her story is proof that determination and resilience can turn ambition into reality.

Milaneth T., RN

For Milaneth, nursing has always been about more than a career. With over 16 years of clinical experience and a specialty in Neonatal Intensive Care, she built her foundation in the Philippines before continuing her practice in Maryland. Her decision to partner with HCI was driven not just by opportunity but by a desire for mentorship, growth, and the chance to expand her impact.

The transition to the US came with cultural and clinical challenges, but Milaneth’s values of humility and resilience carried her forward. In the NICU, she has learned that every detail matters and that advocacy and assertiveness are vital in shaping outcomes for her smallest patients.

“Winning would be more than an award—it would be a symbol of my journey and purpose,” she shares.

Today, Milaneth stands as a mentor and leader, proving that strength and compassion are universal languages in healthcare. Her story embodies the heart of HCI’s mission: to empower global healthcare professionals as they transform both their careers and the communities they serve.
