October 2025 Visa Bulletin: Forward Movement in EB-2 and EB-3 for International Nurses

Each month, international nurses eagerly await the release of the U.S. Visa Bulletin. This is a critical update that determines when they can move forward in their immigration journey. The October 2025 Visa Bulletin is here, and with it comes welcome progress in both the EB-2 and EB-3 categories.

Elizabeth, Health Carousel’s Associate Director of Immigration & Licensing, joined our latest PassportUSA Live Broadcast to break down the changes, explain what they mean for you, and share encouragement for those still waiting.

Curious about what the October 2025 Visa Bulletin means for your immigration timeline? In this short clip, Elizabeth explains the latest movements and what you can do while you wait.

October 2025 Visa Bulletin Summary

EB-2 Category:

  • China: Forward movement of 3.5 months
  • All other countries: Forward movement of 3 months

EB-3 Category:

  • India: Forward movement of 3 months
  • China: Forward movement of 3 months
  • Philippines: Forward movement of almost 2 months
  • Mexico and Rest of World (ROW): No change

This forward movement, especially at the start of a new U.S. government fiscal year, is an encouraging sign. After months of stagnation for many chargeability areas, October opens the door for thousands of nurses to move one step closer to their American dream.

Visa retrogression and long wait times are difficult, but they are a normal part of the immigration process. With this fresh start to the fiscal year, we’re optimistic that more movement is on the horizon in the months ahead.

What Can Nurses Do While Waiting?

Even as the bulletin moves forward, not every nurse will see their priority date become current this month. If you're still waiting, use this time strategically to prepare for what’s ahead.

Here’s what Elizabeth recommends:

“Use this waiting period to actively prepare. Ensure your documents are complete and ready for submission. Practice English language skills and maintain readiness for interviews.”
