Broomfield was once divided into counties and this led to the establishment of multiple school districts in the city.  Boulder Valley School District, Adams 12 Five Star School District, Weld County School District, Jefferson County School District, Brighton School District, and St. Vrain School District all serve Broomfield's students. Adams 12 Five Star Schools is one of the largest districts with a preschool center, 1 PreK-8 school, 1 K-5 magnet school, 4 charter schools, 29 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 5 high schools, and 3 alternative schools. Broomfield offers plenty of great shopping destinations, including locally-owned shops, a mall, and several national brand stores. The outdoor shopping complex FlatIron Crossing Mall is one of the biggest venues and has more than 200 stores including the Build-a-Bear, Aveda, and The Children's Place. Walmart and other department stores are also in the area, plus downtown Denver, Colorado is just 20 minutes away and has even more stores to explore with a fashion district.

Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities is one of the driving forces for arts and culture in the area. The organization regularly presents events for all facets of the arts. Their work includes the theatre group the Broomfield Community Players, Aster Women's Chamber Choir, the Broomshticks improv group, and various art shows. Each summer the group hosts Summer Sundays, a slate of outdoor festivals for art and music. In addition to these community events, Broomfield also features the world-class venue 1stBank Center, which hosts traveling comedians, family shows, and musicians.

Area history and heritage come alive in Broomfield's museums. Broomfield Depot Museum is a brand-new museum housed in a former railroad depot and focuses on preserving local history. A large collection of artifacts, documents, and photographs help illustrate Broomfield's legacy. Also of interest is the Broomfield Veterans Museum, a space dedicated to honoring the brave veterans of the Civil War, World II, and other conflicts. One of the best parks, Broomfield County Commons Park, spans 300 acres with 237 acres of open space, a large sports complex, and the Paul Derda Recreation Center. The recreation is the perfect spot for a family day out all year-long. It features an indoor waterpark, adult sauna, a climbing wall, indoor track, fitness area, gymnastics center, and a kids zone. Another popular park, Broomfield Community Park, is home to the Bay Aquatic Park, an outdoor water complex with a large pool, water slide, and spray ground. Indoor recreation is just plentiful as outdoor fun in Broomfield. The family-friendly Chipper's offers a whole day's worth of activities thanks to its arcade, bowling center, and laser tag arena. If you want a challenge, venture to the Puzzah Escape Room to solve and "escape" from the puzzle room before the clock runs out.
