Lakeview isn’t far from the Fremont-Winema National Forest, a 2.3 million-acre forest with a variety of outdoor recreation options. In the summer, it’s a popular destination for fishing, backpacking, camping, boating, and hiking, as well as just being a nice place for a drive. In the colder months, it’s great for cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and other winter sports. The city also offers a public school in the warmer months.
