Joe Mar is one of our wonderful RNs currently assigned in New Mexico. He is from the Philippines and has been in the healthcare field for 11 years and with PassportUSA for 5 months! Joe Mar was nominated for RN of the Month by hisunit director for, "Being an exceptional example of teamwork, growth, dependability, tenacity, focused and takes pride in patient care. He is always willing to lend a helping hand before you even ask him. He goes out of his way to find opportunities to take care of patients and the unit, he is proactive instead of reactive. He is flexible whenever I need him to be and never complains. He greets the staff and the patients with the brightest smile and even during stressful situations, his demeanor never changes. He brings joy to everyone that crosses his path and in every department."Learn a little more about PassportUSA's award-winning RN, Joe Mar by reading his responses below! What drew you to Health Carousel? "I've been trying so hard to find the best agency to help me live my American dream even before I graduated, I haven't been lucky enough; but while going through my inbox I came across an old inquiry to Health Carousel, I reached out and they were quick to respond, I thought it would be the same rejection as the old agencies I have inquired, but no, after finding out that I met their basic requirements, they filed for my petition and I was so overwhelmed. I complied and can't believe I'm actually here now."What do you like most about working with our client? "It is the first hospital I ever worked with in the US, I was anxious about how the staff/hospital/patients would be like. I'm glad that on the first day of orientation they were so welcoming and so helpful about my transition to US healthcare. I'm glad I am surrounded by great people."What do you love most about being a RN? "As a RN we take pride in being the front liner in providing direct care to all individuals, we cater more time to our patients than any other allied healthcare, and this is something special and that I love about being a RN."What is your favorite quote? "Behind great doctors are even greater nurses."Tell us something unique about you! "In just about a month here in the US not knowing about the roads/freeways/how traffic is, I got to drive as far away to Arizona. That's about a 10 hours long drive and I made it alive. I got to see my aunt and uncle there and the best part is that I was able to fetch my mom and take her with me to New Mexico (next is to bring my dad too). Being an Igorot/Ilokano Filipino I guess I'm lucky enough to be able to speak other Filipino native languages."If you are not a current PassportUSA employee, simply register with us today and we'll get your journey to the USA underway!
