The public school system is the Rapides Parish School Board which is comprised of 27 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, and 11 high schools. The district includes magnet and Montessori schools to offer a well-rounded education to eager young learners. Schools have a low student-teacher ratio of 15 to 1 with nearly 70% of the students proficient in reading and math.
