Shreveport’s public school district is Caddo Public Schools. The district features a wide range of schools including elementary Pre-K-5 or K-5 schools, K-8 schools, and specialty schools. More than 60 schools are present in the district and among the campuses are several magnet campuses at the elementary and middle school levels. Caddo also has 12 National Blue Ribbon schools and more than 100 National Board Certified teachers. More than 50% of the district’s students are proficient in math and more than 60% are proficient in reading. The high schools in the district are high performers having ranked among the top in the state and the country by U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools. Caddo Public Schools’ graduation rate recently reached an all-time high with more students graduating from high school within 4 years. Shreveport also has more than 15 private schools.
