Laredo Independent School District and the United Independent School District are present in the area. The Laredo Independent School District features 20 elementary schools, 4 middle schools and 4 high schools. The selection of high schools includes Early College High School located on the campus of Texas A&M International University and recognized as one of the top 170 high schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report.  The district features three magnet schools for specialized instruction in STEM subjects. The United Independent School has more than 20 elementary schools, 10 middle schools and 4 high schools. This district has also been recognized by U.S News and World Report with John B. Alexander High School named one of the top 200 schools in the state.
