Purple is one of our wonderful RNs currently assigned in New Mexico. She is from the Philippines and has been in the healthcare field for 12 years and has been with PassportUSA for almost 2 years!Purple was nominated for RN of the Month by her fellow PassportUSA co-nurse:

"She is a leader and very hard working. She is always there for everyone helping and making sure our OR is running smoothly. Most of the staff think that she should assume a charge nurse position because she knows her craft very well and she leads people. Her father passed away a month ago, but she never failed to fulfill her job and do it well. I really think that she deserves to have the spot as the next PassportUSA Employee of the Month."

Learn a little more about PassportUSA's award-winning RN, Purple, by reading her responses below! What drew you to Health Carousel? "I applied right after passing NCLEX. I was unfortunately abandoned by my previous sponsor. Then I got referred to PassportUSA in 2014. PassportUSA assisted me in processing my U.S. application."What do you like most about working with our client? "It is a friendly community. Everybody helps each other. I never find it difficult when adjusting to deal with my patients and coworkers. The nurses, CRNAs, and scrub techs work in collaboration to deliver a good case. My colleagues are very helpful. They never hesitate to offer a hand."What do you like to do outside of work? "I plan to engage myself in sewing and knitting and since my kids are still small, I spend my days with them. They grow so fast and I don't want to miss a thing. In my free time I usually cook Filipino food and bring it to work. My family and I usually go to parks and recreational centers. On weekends when I am not on call, I sometimes shop in garage or estate sales. Once a month, we go to Texas to buy food in Asian grocery stores."What is your favorite American food? "My favorite American food is steak!"What do you love most about being a RN? "I love being a nurse to show my compassion and care. Being a professional nurse means that I must be able to get the trust of the patients I am taking care of. I need to be up-to-date with best practices. It gives me opportunities to improve myself personally and professionally. Most of all, being a nurse means treating your patients and colleagues with dignity, kindness, respect, and compassion."Tell us something unique about you! "My name is Purple Haze because I was named after my mother Violeta so I named my daughter Violette as a combination of my name and my mother's name. I also have a son who is over a year old now."What is your favorite quote? "Never give up on anybody. Miracles happen everyday."If you are not a current PassportUSA employee, simply apply with us today and we'll get your journey to the USA underway! We are currently hiring registered nurses and will send you relevant information to start your #AmericanDream.
